About the Artist

Profile 2017.jpg

“I’ll never be a Yankee!”—at least that’s what I told myself growing up in hot & sticky Georgia, but here I am above the Mason Dixon line outside Philadelphia. For the longest time, I saw my identity wrapped up in where I was from. Now that I’m forced to reckon with that reality, I can see how the South shaped me, but it doesn’t define me. I interpret the world through images. Ever since I was a child, I was drawing and painting the world around me. After completing my bachelor of art, I could see that my work had a similar theme. I see the use of bright colors and bold lines as a reflection of the summer heat. Even in the subject matter: it’s not fussy, which represents how life can be rich and simple at the same time.

You can tell a complete story with a few essential lines and colors to reach the heart of the viewer. Each story is different, and every piece is unique. Some of my pieces have controlled brush strokes, giving lots of detail. Others are quick and dreamlike—as if they were a flash of an image that you saw from the car window. In my experience, the most beautiful images as the ones that are gone in an instant—simply for the fact that they don’t last. I want to capture the fleeting beauty that exists all around us. In each one, I ask the viewer to slow down and appreciate these quiet little moments that surround us every day. So, take a deep breath, grab yourself a tall glass of sweet tea, and take it in.

I love art. I love making it, seeing it, and talking about it. I've been painting since I was a child, and it is near and dear to my heart. I love that it tells you a story. My stories are common stories. One's that we all share, but sometimes we forget to listen to them. So perk your ears up, take a few minutes to be quiet, and you'll hear them.

I have fun creating each piece and I hope that you enjoy it as well. I want you to be completely satisfied with any purchase. I’m happy to work with you to customize any color or size to fit your needs. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I’m always available and will resolve any issue as fast as possible.
